Two armed robberies at Coralville restaurants

Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies at local fast food restaurants in one city.

The first one was reported early Wednesday morning at the Wendy's located at 2804 Commerce Drive in Coralville. Police say two men in black pants, grey hooded sweatshirts, black ski masks and gloves showed a small handgun and demanded money.

The second report coming early Thursday morning at the Pancheros located at 901 25th Avenue.  Police say a black man between the ages of 20 and 40, about six-feet-tall and roughly 150 pounds showed a handgun and demanded money.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white undershirt, a blue or black fleece gaiter and grey and green shoes.

Nobody was hurt in either robbery.  It's known if the two incidents are related, but it is under investigation.
