Courage League Sports will be joining forces with Sportability of Iowa to help improve adaptive recreational options for children and adults with special needs in Eastern Iowa.

Established in Urbandale is 2013, Courage Sports League already serves more than 1,000 Iowa children and some 400 adults every month. That number will increase significantly, as Courage League Sports comes to Eastern Iowa.

Jayden Barrett, President of Sportability of Iowa, says “Over the past year, we've been looking at options to help expand our core values of empowerment, inclusion and diversity to thousands more in our community, including those with cognitive, physical or emotional disability. ”

To begin with, Courage Sports League will offer programming on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 3 through November 23 at the Hawkeye Downs Expo Center. Adult programs will be held from 4 to 5 PM, with youth programs following from 5 to 7 PM.

Melissa Clarke-Eharff, Founder & Executive Director of Courage League Sports, says, :We are thrilled to be able to bring some of the same programs and activities we're seem success with in Des Moines to Eastern Iowa. Our goal is to one day offer programming four to six days a week in the area.”
