Millions were holding onto their pants as one man tried to backflip his way into the records book this morning.

On NBC's "The Today Show," self-taught acrobat Raymond Butler attempted to set the record for longest distance backflip into a pair of pants.

He snagged his first attempt to the left, but Butler got a second try.

After a few adjustments, Butler ran, flipped, and stuck the landing.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Rob Molloy put his Button of Approval on the feat and made it official.

Butler held he record in 2013, but someone else beat it with a backflip length of 7' 8" later that year.

Butler zipped past the old record with a flip of 8' 6".
