Authorities investigate fish kill in central Iowa stream

Posted: Updated:
COLLINS, Iowa (AP) -

State authorities are investigating after fish were found dead along a six-mile stretch of Wolf Creek in central Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the dead fish were reported Saturday morning.
Field testing showed elevated levels of ammonia in parts of Wolf Creek. That stream flows into Indian Creek, but authorities don't believe Indian Creek was affected.
The dead fish were found south of Collins, Iowa, near the border between Jasper and Polk counties.
