Iowa deputy forgets ticket, helps family

WOODBURY COUNTY (KWWL) -

An Iowa Sheriff's Deputy is the subject of a Facebook post that has gone viral -- not for something he did wrong, but for showing compassion on the job

The deputy pulled over a driver for having a broken tail-light. When the deputy approached the car, he saw a mother and her one-year-old son, who was struggling to breathe. He quickly forgot about the ticket and helped get them to the emergency room.

"Like most law enforcement officers, i kind of have a soft spot for kids, so just tried to make him feel comfortable, you know, obviously he's not feeling well," said Kyle Cleveringa, Woodbury County Sheriff's Deputy. "I've got 2 boys at home and obviously I would hope somebody would do the same for them."

The child is doing fine and the mother says she's getting the lights fixed as soon as possible.
