Pinnacle Specialty Care opens in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

More than 50 Cedar Falls assisted living residents are in their new home and loving it.

They relocated from Windsor Specialty Care to Pinnacle Specialty Care.

This brand new Care Initiatives facility replaces Windsor Specialty Care in Cedar Falls, and it's the nicest facility I've ever seen.

Residents say, they like it too.

"Oh my. This is great. Everything is new, bigger, we've got a lot more room, and it's very nice," resident Jessie Mott said.

Jessie Mott of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area has been in assisted living since October 15, 2015, and she said she feels at home.

"My mother was in a nursing home years ago, and I hated nursing homes. When I went to Care Initiatives I just stayed," Jessie said.

She said the week went smoothly.

"It wasn't bad at all. We just took our time and packed. We brought things over Saturday and unpacked, and what was left this morning. It was easy, not very far away, and everybody was here to help and kind," Jessie said.

Right now Care Initiatives workers are making sure the security system is working, and residents like Jessie are enjoying new amenities like the state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool and therapy gym.

"I think the sitting rooms is my favorite part, and there's one just right outside my door. I think I'm going to use it a lot," Jessie said.

And, with the last resident moved in Thursday morning, Care Initiatives managers say they plan to sell the Crescent Drive location, once they remove all the medical equipment.

Managers said the new building is creating quite the buzz, and there are still available beds and rooms.
