Gov. Branstad makes requests to U.S. Small Business Administration

Posted: Updated:

Gov. Branstad is requesting the U.S. Small Business Administration to make low-interest federal disaster loans available to Iowa residents and business owners affected by recent severe weather and flash flooding in northeast Iowa. He is also requesting that this administration grant a Physical Disaster Declaration for Winneshiek County. This would make the Disaster Loan Program eligible to some Winneshiek county residents. That means that low-interest loans for those impacted between August 23th and 24th with flash flooding and severe weather could be provided. If granted, residents and business owners in Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, and Howard counties may also be able to apply for loans.
