Triple amputee veteran has message for Colin Kaepernick

Brian Kolfage, who lost both of his legs and an arm while serving as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, posted about the protest being made by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick on his Facebook account Monday morning.

"Colin Kaepernick I lost my legs and arm fighting in the US military, the same military that I took an oath to defend our nation and flag from enemies foreign and domestic," wrote Kolfage.

"Next time I hear the national anthem I'll be sure to stand for the both us since you feel that you've been oppressed."

Kaepernick first refused to stand for the national anthem before a preseason game last Friday.  "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," he later said in an interview with NFL Media.
