Gov. Branstad issues disaster proclamation for Bremer and Chickasaw counties

Governor Terry Branstad has issued a disaster proclamation for two counties after the recent severe storms and flash flooding.  The two counties are Bremer and Chickasaw. 

The Iowa Individual Assistance Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the current federal poverty level, or a maximum annual income of $40,320, for a family of three.

Grants are available for home or car repairs, temporary housing, and clothing and food replacement.  People affected have until October 14 to submit an application.
