UPDATE: House fire kills 22-year-old man

UPDATE:
A 22-year-old man dies after a house fire in Cedar Rapids. Firefighters say Naquave Whitlock was taken to the hospital after the fire, where he died. Fire crews found him in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
A 20-year-old woman, Alize Watson, was able to escape the fire. She was treated on scene by paramedics.
Firefighters say the fire started in the kitchen; a frying pot with grease was left on the stove top, and firefighters say the fire started accidentally.
Two people are taken to the hospital following a house fire in Cedar Rapids.

Shortly before 2 a.m. firefighters responded to 611 A Ave. NW.
Firefighters say a woman got out of the home on her own but they had to rescue a man.
Both people had to be taken to St. Luke's Hospital.
The house has significant damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
