Motorcyclist injured in Linn County crash

LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A man is injured after a van hits his motorcycle in Linn County.

The crash happened Monday evening shortly before 10 p.m. on County Home Road at North 10th Street. 

Responders arrived to find that a van driven by Daron Bockenstedt, 49 of Edgewood, hit a motorcycle driven by Robert Pulju, 38 of Marion. Officers say the motorcyclist failed to stop at a stop sign.

Pulju was the only person on the motorcycle. He was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with non-life threatening injuries. 

Pulju was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

Bockenstedt was not injured and was wearing his seat belt. 

There were multiple passengers in the van at the time of the crash and all were not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
