Iowa gas prices rise about 5 cents per gallon in past week

Gas prices in Iowa now average roughly $2.22 a gallon, according to GasBuddy's latest report.

Prices in Iowa have risen 5.2 cents a gallon in the past week, and the national average has increased 3.7 cents.

Prices Sunday were 46 cents per gallon lower the same day one year ago, and 6.2 cents per gallon higher than one month ago. The national average has decreased 0.5 cents a gallon during the last month.


GasBuddy finds prices in and around Iowa as follows:

Quad Cities- $2.11/g, up 7.0 cents per gallon from last week's $2.04/g.
Des Moines- $2.40/g, up 6.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.33/g.
Omaha- $2.22/g, up 9.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.12/g.
