LEXINGTON, Ky. (KWWL) -

A mother is upset after being asked to leave a city pool for breastfeeding.

The Kentucky woman and her family were approached by two employees while she was breastfeeding. The mom says they asked her to cover up, which she calls embarrassing and demeaning.

According to Kentucky state law, mothers are allowed to breastfeed uncovered.

"I've ate at several different restaurants and I have breast-fed my baby at several different restaurants and nobody has ever said anything to me about it... but the one day that I decide to go to the pool where there's females wearing two piece bathing suits all exposed, they have a problem with it and I didn't understand that," Eliany Johnson said.

The pool posted to Facebook with a response to the situation, saying there are separate areas available for breastfeeding mothers and their children.
