Washington High Associate Principal Mike Johnson forced to step down

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

There is more fallout from the sex scandal involving a former substitute teacher and a high school student.  The Cedar Rapids School District says Washington High School Administrator and Associate Principal Mike Johnson will retire and not return for the upcoming 2016-17 school year.

This comes after longtime principal Dr. Ralph Plagman was forced to step down.  The former teacher, Mary Beth Haglin, faces charges of sexual exploitation in the case.

The District says it is focused on supporting the students and staff members at the school.  They say they will establish a timeline for selecting an interim Activities Director soon.
