Waterloo woman allegedly beaten with chain

Posted: Updated:

A father and son were arrested after allegedly beating a woman with a chain.

Waterloo police responded to Ackermant Street in Waterloo, Saturday, August 6, for a complaint of a man with a rifle threatening a woman.

The victim says she was afraid for her life and she was just trying to protect her grandchildren when the incident happened.

Police say a BB gun was taken from the scene and so was a chain. A witness says a man used this chain to beat a woman in her front yard.

"He was punching her while the dog was trying to get him off her, he wouldn't get off of her and he started hitting her with the damn chain," said a witness.

Father and son, Tony and Taylor Morrow, were arrested for allegedly beating their neighbor with a chain. Witnesses say the duo was carrying a rifle and pointed it at the woman.

"He cocked the gun back and he started pointing to shoot," said a witness. "When he started pointing to shoot, she said go, and I told all the kids to lay down in the car."

The victim says she was scared for her grandchildren and asked the men to stop. But the men walked back to their house and came back with a chain.

The son, 18-year-old Taylor Morrow, was charged with Assault with Intent and Going Armed with Intent. The father, 44-year-old Tony Morrow, was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

The victim says the pair was released from jail and have already started more problems in the neighborhood. She says she plans on getting a restraining order.
