IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A father is facing charges after police say he left his young son home alone while he went out trying to catch Pokemon.

Michael Dunham, from Iowa City, told police he left his six-year-old son at home, while he took his other son out to play Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go is a game that requires the player to leave the house in order to play.

The criminal complaints say the six-year-old was found by a neighbor. The boy told the officers he woke up from a nap and his dad wasn't home, he left the house looking for an adult.

The 30-year-old father is charged with child endangerment.
