DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that killed one and injured two others at a Des Moines bar.

The Des Moines Register reports that 26-year-old Devin Carter of Des Moines was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and weapons charges.

Authorities say 40-year-old William Dawson Sr. died after he was shot in the back of the head and in the leg in the parking lot of Johnny Mac's Bar and Grill around 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Two other victims, 20-year-old William Dawson Jr. and 20-year-old Carley Toomey remain hospitalized and are expected to survive.

Authorities say the Dawsons are father and son, and Toomey is the younger Dawson's girlfriend. The couple has a daughter.
