The first full day of Olympic action is in the books, so it's time to look ahead to the first Sunday of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

In women's sand volleyball, the United States duo of Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat will take on Poland's Kinga Kolosinska and Monica Brzostek.

In women's road cycling, American Megan Gaurnier looks for a strong showing. She took home bronze at last year's Worlds.

In the water, 19-year-old phenom Katie Ledecky will compete in the 400-meter freestyle prelims. Also on the water -- men's kayak and canoe singles.

Sunday also brings the first day of men's volleyball, where a young US team takes on Canada in a preliminary match. The United States men took the World Cup in 2015, but were bounced in the quarterfinals of the 2012 games in London.
