Hundreds protest Washington High School Principal leaving

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of students past and present protested the sudden departure of Principal Dr. Plagman from Washington High School.

"I think people are most angry about how he left," said 2015 Washington graduate Taylor Courtright.

Plagman claiming the recent sex scandal was part of the school board's decision to force him into retirement.

"It was kind of clear he was not ready to leave, but the school district wanted him to leave," said Courtright.

Plagman even admitted he and the staff believed the wrong party when the relationship was first brought to their attention.

However, the people at the protest are standing behind their beloved principal.

"Dr. Plagman not being at Washington High School is devastating for the community. He was not only a principal; he was an active participant in the lives of thousands people, three generations of families he had the pleasure of serving," said 2006 Washington graduate Stacey Walker.

The protest not the only place people are showing their support.

An online petition has more than 3,000 signature asking to bring Dr. Plagman back.

Wednesday was Dr.. Plagman's last day with the district.
