HAZEL GREEN, Wis. (KWWL) -

Some men are enjoying a round of golf, but Saturday things turned for the worse at Birchwood Golf Course in Hazel Green, Wisconsin.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says 77-year-old James Degenhardt died while mowing the lawn.

Jim was going over a steep embankment when the lawn tractor overturned rolling on top of him. It was an employee at the golf course who later found him.

KWWL briefly spoke with management at the course. They say what happened is tragic and employees are trying to deal with it.

Jim was pinned between the ground and the mower. His wife Dorothy says he didn't feel any pain from the accident.

He's being remembered as a man who loved to keep busy and help out where ever needed. He had just started working at the golf course this summer.

Jim loved gardening and golfing.

Funeral services are being held Tuesday and Wednesday in East Dubuque, IL.
