UPDATE: Police investigate bank robbery in Monticello

MONTICELLO (KWWL) -

UPDATE: According to Monticello Police Chief Britt Smith, the suspect is described as a black male, about 5'10'', stocky build and wearing an all black outfit including a black mask and hoodie. 

There were four employees working at the time when the man pulled out a pistol, however no verbal threats were made. 

The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in what witnesses say was a black minivan. 

FBI is investigating this incident, along with Monticello Police, Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Jones County Sheriff's Office, Iowa State Patrol and Iowa DOT. 

Chief Smith says he can't remember the last time there was a robbery in Monticello.

Police are investigating a bank robbery around 11:00 a.m.

Jones County Sheriff's Office confirms the robbery took place at the F&M bank on E. 1st Street in Monticello, which is the main street that runs through Monticello. 

There are two officers at the scene at this time.
