Full speed ahead: Cubs land star closer Chapman

A blockbuster Major League Baseball trade sends star closer Aroldis Chapman from the Big Apple to the Windy City.

According to multiple reports, the New York Yankees ship Chapman to the Chicago Cubs in return for a four-player package, including Chicago's top-ranked prospect shortstop Gleyber Torres.

The Cubs added an important piece to the back end of their bullpen because they lack a true left-handed, late-inning reliever with his kind of experience.

Chapman is a free-agent after this season, and there's speculation that the teams have not announced the trade because the cubs are attempting to sign him to a long-term deal.

After being suspended for the first 30 games of this season for violating MLB's domestic violence policy, Chapman returned looking like the dominant closer he's been throughout his big league career.

The 28-year-old is 3-0 this season with a 2.01 earned run average and 20 saves in 31 games, with 44 strikeouts and eight walks.

This year's MLB trade deadline is Monday, August 1st.
