Tornadoes confirmed in eastern Iowa Saturday

At least three tornadoes have been confirmed by the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities on Saturday.

The first tornado occurred near Delhi in Delaware County.  It was reported on the ground around 4:18 PM and was 50 yards wide.  Video showed the tornado moving trough the southwest side of Lake Delhi, causing tree damage.  Winds have been estimated at 80 mph, making this an EF-0 tornado.  The path and duration of the tornado is to be determined as of late Saturday night.

A second tornado has been confirmed near Worthington in Dubuque County.  This was also an EF-0 with estimated winds of 70 mph.  It was on the ground at 4:42 and caused damage to several crops and farm outbuildings.  The path and duration of this tornado is also to be determined.

A third tornado was reported near Farley in Dubuque Co. It was reported going up and down around 4:48 PM Saturday. The strength, path and duration of the tornado is to be determined.

We should have more information available in the next day or two as the National Weather Service finishes analyzing these storms.  Stay tuned.
