10 arrested after being suspected for planning terrorist acts during Rio Olympics

Ten people have been arrested by Brazilian police after being suspected of planning terrorist acts during the Rio Olympics.

Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes says that the group was in contact with ISIS and was inspired by them.

The suspects' cell phones and computers are being investigated to discover more about their plans. De Moraes says that there was one minor among the suspects and that they are Brazilian nationals. He also explains how the suspects were "not an organized cell."

A jihadi messaging channel ordered its followers to target the Olympics.

Brazil's intelligence agency is reviewing all threats against the Rio 2016 Games after the jihadi message was sent.

According to the SITE Intelligence Group, jihadi channel on the messaging app Telegram ordered attacks against specific targets and methods.

Messages on the a page called "Inspire the Believers!" said, "Lone wolf from anywhere in the world can move to Brazil now."

It was also suggested in the message that Western athletes and enemies of the jihad were to be targeted and attacked.
