Hy-Vee recalls limited black beans due to potential choking hazard

WEST DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Hy-Vee, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Hy-Vee No-Salt-Added Black Beans do potential to cause a choking hazard. The presence of plastic and/or metal pieces could be found within the product and may cause adverse health consequences, including injury.

The voluntary recall is limited to 15-ounce cans of Hy-Vee No-Salt-Added Black Beans that say "Best By 04 APR 2019." The product was sold at Hy-Vee stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin between April 22, 2016, and July 18, 2016.

No injuries have been reported.

Out of caution, Hy-Vee is recalling the product from all of its stores. No other Hy-Vee food items are impacted by this recall.

Customers who purchased this product should throw it away or return it to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund.
