New head of Grand Canyon named; ran park in California

The National Park Service has announced a new leader for the Grand Canyon National Park.
Christine Lehnertz will take over as superintendent next month, replacing Dave Uberuaga, who retired this year rather than being transferred after he was accused of failing to properly address claims of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment at the park.
Lehnertz comes from the Golden Gate Recreational Area in northern California and has spent the last nine years with the National Parks Service.
Lehnertz will oversee one of the largest attractions in the United States, drawing over five million visitors annually.
A report by the Interior Department's Office of Inspector General released this year found that male employees of Grand Canyon preyed on female colleagues during what could be weekslong trips on the Colorado River. The men demanded sex and retaliated against women who refused.
