WALFORD (KWWL) -

The National Weather Service confirms an EF-2 tornado hit Walford over the weekend.

Damage was hard to miss, as not only trees are down, but one home collapsed during the storm.

Many homes in the area have significant damage, we went to Erusha Drive.

It was a rude awakening, just after five Sunday morning.

"I heard a really loud whistle a 'wheeeew' and I wasn't sure if it was an alarm, my daughter crying, sirens or what it was," Kelly Werner told us.

Werner and his wife, rushed to grab their 3-year-old daughter from her bed.

Just seconds after the couple got out of bed, their bedroom wall was blown away.

"we could hear neighbors screaming," Werner says.

The neighboring home collapsed, trapping a man inside.

Werner's wife watched the children who live in the  collapsed home, while firefighters freed their dad from the rubble.

"They were shaken up, they were concerned about their dad more than anything," Werner told us.

The community is now working to clean up.

Despite their own mess, Werner says he's here for his neighbors who were hit even worse.

"I've been fighting back tears for two days already now, but I just, they're such nice neighbors too, we've only lived here eight months now maybe a little bit more than that and they haven't lived here much longer than us," he told us.

The man who was rescued from the collapsed home is 27-year-old Brett Gioimo, he is expected to be okay.
