MidAmerican crews work to restore power

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

MidAmerican Energy crews are working to restore power following thunderstorms and high winds.

Since the beginning of the storm, power has been restored to more than 24,000 customers across MidAmerican Energy's service area.

At last count, there are nearly 100 customers without power in Waterloo.

Crews can expect to restore power to the majority of customers by 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

In addition, a transmission line and 15 power poles were damaged due to high winds in Black Hawk County.

Poles should be fully repaired by 8:00 a.m. Monday.
