(KWWL) -

Waterloo's 15th annual BBQ'Loo and Blues Too kicks off today. There will be tasty barbeque and blues music both Friday and Saturday at Lincoln Park.

Smokers firing up, and that mouth-watering smell of barbeque in the air.

Cindy Wells has been organizing the BBQ'Loo and Blues Too event for 15 years.

"You'll see all smoke in the air," said Wells. "Cooks cooking. We have 32 teams this year. And these are coming from three different states. Oklahoma, all over the state of Iowa, and all over Minnesota."

All getting ready for the big competition.

Liz Bryant is one of those competitors. Her team Meadow Valley Barbeque cooks everything out of this small trailer.

"It's pretty basic, we basically built it into a kitchen," said Bryant. "And we got a very small living quarters for the guys to sleep. Because they do have to smoke two of the cuts of meat overnight."

Bryant and her husband have been competing for the past 15 years.

"For the contest, we cook 4 different types of meat," said Bryant. "We do chicken thighs and pork ribs. Pork shoulder, and then beef brisket. Ours is kind of a sweet smoky, with a little bit of kick at the end just to amp it up a little bit."

For the Bryants, it has become a family affair.

"One of her very first words was barbeque," said Bryant.

Clearly something the Bryants and these barbeque lovers can't get enough of.

"It's just delicious and the smoke on it is amazing," said Bryant. "Pork is probably the long-time favorite though."

But for Bryant, the judges will make that call tomorrow.

The competition starts at noon. The rib eating contest starts at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday as well.

The event goes from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, and Saturday from 11:00 a,m. to 9:30 p.m.
