The Bremer County Sheriff's Office is responding to the tragedy in Dallas. 5 officers were killed in an ambush last night. 7 other officers and 2 civilians were shot.

The sheriff's office posted this on its Facebook page this morning:

"The Bremer County Sheriff's Office would like to extend our deepest sympathy for all of those affected in another senseless act of violence. With every day that passes it seems this world becomes more dangerous and people care less about each other. To our Law Enforcement brothers and sisters in the Dallas area our thoughts and prayers go out to you."

The Grant County (Wisconsin) Sheriff's Office posted this:

"What a challenging time we are in for law enforcement! Our thoughts and prayers are with the officers in Dallas and for the hundreds of thousands of officers across this country. Be safe and be vigilant!"
