UPDATE: Arrests made in shots fired incident in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

UPDATE: Cedar Rapids police officers responded to shots fired in the 500 block of 16th Street SE at 8:15 pm on Wednesday evening. 

According to police, several callers reported multiple shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and a number of shell casings were recovered at the scene. 

Several individuals were questioned by police officers, and police determined that shots were fired at a vehicle as it passed by a large group of people assembled in the 500 block of 16th Street SE.

Several suspects were identified and later arrested during a traffic stop.

Jontreyvius Richmond, 18, was charged with attempted murder, carrying weapons, intimation with a weapon, and going armed with intent. 

Jawuan Dunlap, 23, was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and public intoxication. 

Maurice Johnson, 20, was charged with public intoxication. 

A handgun believed to have been used, however there was no evidence that anyone had gotten shot. 

This is an active, ongoing investigation.

Cedar Rapids Police report shots fired Wednesday night.

This happened around 8:15 pm in the 500 block of 16th Street SE. 

Officers located several shell casings, however there are no reports of anyone being hit by bullets.
