(NBC) - A Colorado woman drowned Sunday in a spot popular among waterfall jumpers, officials said.

Haley Clarke, 19, of Bayfield, was killed near Cascade Creek Falls in southwestern Colorado, the San Juan County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities removed her body from the canyon, and rescued two other stranded jumpers, officials said in a Facebook post.

They would not give any other information, but warned on Facebook: "This is an extremely dangerous area! Water levels are still very high and jumping the falls is not recommended. Please use this tragedy to make good, safe decisions."

The busy recreational spot often attracts jumpers. According to The Durango Herald, less than a week before Clarke's death, three men who planned on jumping called to be rescued after they realized the water was flowing too quickly to safely plunge in.

A GoFundMe page for Clarke's family called her "a friend to us all, a ray of sunshine that gifted everyone with her beautiful smile and uplifting attitude."

The page said her father, Simon Clarke, 61, had just died suddenly on May 28 of an aortic aneurysm, and linked to an obituary for him. The page organizer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Funding two funerals in just one month's time and every cost associated with that is something no family should have to endure while simultaneously grieving," the GoFundMe page said.
