Iowa gas prices fall nearly 3 cents in past week

It's good news following a holiday weekend: gas prices in Iowa have fallen 2.9 cents per gallon in the past week to an average of $2.27 a gallon Sunday.

GasBuddy says the national average has fallen three cents per gallon in the last week to $2.26 a gallon.

Prices Sunday were 41.5 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and are 4.8 cents per gallon lower than one month ago. The national average has decreased 10 cents a gallon during the last month, according to GasBuddy.
