KWWL to sit down with actor and Cedar Rapids native Riley Smith

Today we''ll hear from actor and Cedar Rapids native Riley Smith on the KWWL noon show. 

Smith is set as the male lead in the show Frequency, the CW's drama pilot based on Toby Emmerich's sci-fi thriller. Some of Smith's more noticeable credits were in films as diverse as "Radio"," Eight-Legged Freaks"," Not Another Teen Movie"," New York Minute", and "Gallowalker." 

Smith will be back in town this weekend to host a music festival for the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy. This event will be on July 1 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids. Smith will be the guest of honor and festival host, in addition to playing with his band Life of Riley. During the day you can experience the music of local youth bands, soloists and Eastern Iowa Arts Academy rock bands. 

Eastern Iowa Arts Academy is an after school 501 c(3) arts organization created in 2007 by local educator, David Griffin. EIAA offers classes in art, music, dance, drama, cultural arts and creative writing, are taught by professional educators and artists. This organization is focused on providing artistic opportunities for low income families and in low-income neighborhoods across the Greater Cedar Rapids/Marion metro area.

The CW is coming to KWWL on September 12 of this year, and will be replacing thisTV.
