UPDATE: Formaro has been apprehended and is back in custody at the Newton Medium Security Correctional Facility.

An inmate is missing from the Newton Correctional Release Center.

Monday night, Timothy Joseph Formaro, Jr., was not at the center during a routine count.

Staff believe he escaped.

Formaro is serving a 25 year sentence from Clarke County for Prohibited Acts and Domestic Abuse assault.

Anyone who sees him should call the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

This is not the first time an inmate has escaped in Newton.

In January, Edward Shorter escaped. He was later arrested.

On February 27, Michael Amodeo and Jessy Foley both escaped. Each was missing for weeks, later arrested on different days in March.
