Police say a school administrator found dead in a sugar cane field was pregnant with the child of a former co-worker, who has been accused in the killing.

Forty-year-old Lyntell Washington was found dead June 14 in Iberville Parish, west of Baton Rouge.

Police have charged Robert Jovantie Marks with first-degree murder, first-degree feticide, child desertion and aggravated kidnapping of a child.

Marks is an assistant principal at Brookstown Magnet Honors Academy, where Washington worked as an instructional specialist.

Marks' lawyer, Lionel "Lon" Burns, denies Marks killed Washington.

A police report says Washington's 3-year-old daughter described hearing a "bang" and seeing "Mr. Robbie" trying to clean up blood.

The girl was found alone June 9 near her mother's car.
