Major renovation underway on Community Bank & Trust building

Posted: Updated:

Community Bank & Trust is strengthening its commitment to the Cedar Valley with a multi-million dollar renovation of its main office building at 422 Commercial Street in downtown Waterloo.

Phase One of the $3.5 million, multi-phase project is already underway, and customers can still access the building for all banking services throughout the entire renovation process.

Community Bank & Trust President & CEO, Stacey Bentley, says, “Our Commercial Street office has been a part of this community for nearly 20 years. As our service offerings continue to advance and with the additional resources we now have with our affiliate bank, Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, it makes tremendous business sense to build upon these changes."

Community headquarters have been in the building since the bank's founding in 1997. The building once housed the offices of a former utility company, Iowa Public Service.

CEO Stacey Bentley added, "We are proud to be investing in our community and committed to helping the Cedar Valley grow. While our banking technology has evolved, we still feel strongly about the personal connection between our customers and employees. Customers can expect to see the same friendly faces at the office during and after the renovation.”

Bentley says the office will be redesigned to incorporate many sustainable elements. The renovated office will combine traditional teller services with state of the art new banking technology.

The project is expected to be completed in the 1st quarter of 2017.

Community Bank & Trust, is a division of Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust Company, and headquartered in Waterloo. It serves the Waterloo and Cedar Falls markets. The Bank commenced operations in 1997 as Community National Bank and became a wholly owned subsidiary of QCR Holdings, Inc. on May 13, 2013.
