UPDATE: Power back on for most following early-morning storms

UPDATE:  MidAmerican Energy says the power was restored to most customers by 7:45 a.m.

A tree fell on a line as storms rolled through Johnson County this morning. At one point, several hundred people were out of power.

As of 8:40, that number is down to about 150.

UPDATE: Several hundred customers are without power because of the overnight storms.

MidAmerican Energy & Alliant Energy are both reporting outages in Johnson County.

The storms have taken down trees.

A viewer sent us one picture showing a tree down on a car on Brown Street in Iowa City.

Storms are causing hundreds of power outages in eastern Iowa.

More than 300 in Johnson county are without power, according to Alliant Energy.

Mid American reports more than 900 without power in Iowa City.

Outages are all weather related. 

The storms are also taking down several trees.
