Royals fans save puppy from hot car at stadium

Posted: Updated:

Kansas City Royals fans were in the right place at the right time, when they spotted a puppy inside a hot car at the stadium during a game.

Fans were walking through the stadium parking lot when they heard whimpering. A puppy was found inside a car with no food or water, and temperatures were in the 90s at the time.

Royals employees left a note on the car and brought the puppy into the air conditioning.

The owner reportedly never came to pick up the pup. The dog is now at a shelter, and will be put up for adoption.

Now, the pup is being called the "rally dog," since the Royals won the game in the 13th inning.
