Cleveland Cavaliers Win the NBA Finals 93-89 over Warriors

Posted: Updated:

The Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in NBA Finals history when they topped the Golden State Warriors 93-89 to give the city of Cleveland their first title in the 52 years.  LeBron James was named the Finals MVP and he topped it off with a triple double in game seven, James had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Kyrie Irving pitched in with 26 points, he also was the one who hit the shot that proved to be the game winner, a step-back three over reigning MVP Steph Curry to give the Cavs a three point lead with under a minute to go.

As for the Warriors their regular season record of 73 wins ends in heartbreak as they fall short at home in the finals. Draymond Green played a terrific game scoring 32 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, Steph Curry had just 17 points  and Iowa native Harrison Barnes had 10 in the loss.
