The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has advised that the clear skies and hot temperatures could be associated with ozone levels that are sensitive to some people.
This affects sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems such as Asthma. It is recommended that these sensitive groups limit time outdoors this afternoon and early evening.
According to AirNow, a "moderate" air quality alert means that the air quality is acceptable for most, except for those who fall into the sensitivity of air pollution.
The air quality is expected to improve this evening.
