Hawks' Desmond King looks to improve

Posted: Updated:

Desmond King is coming off one of the greatest seasons by a Hawkeye defensive back...

King tied an Iowa Hawkeye single season record with eight interceptions which ranked second in the nation last season.

King won the Jim Thorpe and Jack Tatum awards given to the top defensive back in the country----

King performed at a high level while helping to lead the hawks to an unbeaten regular season --Big Ten west title and a berth in the Rose Bowl.

Is it possible for King to get better this season? He believes so.

King said, "There is always room for improvement and I feel like there is a lot of things I can do...which is improvement I don't know what it is right now but I look forward to going back and watch more film to see where I messed up. I take those accolades very seriously very proud to have them--its great to have it....the only thing to do is build off the success that's the only thing to do.

King and the Hawkeyes open the season on September 3rd at Kinnick Stadium against Miami of Ohio.
