Iowa dog heads to Orlando to provide comfort to shooting victims

A dog from Iowa is heading to Orlando to help people recovering from the nightclub shooting.

Gracie is a comfort dog at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Davenport.

Gracie joined up with other comfort dogs in Chicago. They'll work through a Lutheran church that has an outreach program for the LGBT community.They'll be working in hospitals with the injured victims and first responders.

"When you pet the dogs they pick up the emotions of the people petting them," said Tim Hetzner, President of Lutheran Church Charities. "It's the same way when you're talking to people and your hearing their stories, you just feel for them."

A dog fro, Nebraska also making the trip.
