Iowa grandmother allegedly beaten by her grandson

WEST DES MOINES (KWWL) -

An Iowa grandmother says she was attacked... by her own grandson.

"He went outside and came back in and started beating me," said Susan O'Keefe of West Des Moines. "(He) said not to talk about his parents and if a friend of his hadn't stepped in between, he probably would have done more damage," said O'Keefe.

20-year-old Mattison Collins was charged with domestic assault and criminal mischief.

O'Keefe continues to recover from the attack that happened back on May 25th.

She says she was punched and headbutted because Collins was mad about her talking badly about his parents.

Collins was already on probation for domestic assault.

"I want to see him get some help," said O'Keefe. "I forgive him. He's my grandson but he needs help."

O'Keefe claims her grandson broke several household items during the attack and stole more than $1,800.
