WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo police are investigating a shooting where two homes, a United State Postal Service truck, and two other vehicles were hit.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of Newell Street, Tuesday afternoon.

More than 25 bullet casings were found from the corner of Ankeny and Newell to the corner of 4th and Newell, where the postal truck was parked.

The postal worker was a block away at the time and was uninjured.

One home was hit near a front window and another bullet was lodged into the side of a home near the corner of 4th and Newell.

Two bicycles were abandoned on Ankeny, where most of the gunfire appeared to take place.

Police say they received conflicting reports and are working to untangle the witness accounts.

At this time there appears to be no injuries from the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation.
