Prosecution shows new surveillance video in Standlee trial

Posted: Updated:

Prosecution show new surveillance video during trial of victim and alleged murderer together.

Travis Standlee is charged with two counts of first degree murder.

Police say Raymond Ursino's body was found in a church parking lot in Cedar Rapids last September.

Standlee went to jail and was released.

A second victim's body was then found near a bus stop next to Coe College a week later.

Prosecution also showed a police interview video during the trial where Standlee claims to not know Ursino.

They then showed surveillance videos and photos which seem to show Standlee and Ursino walking together and going into a convenience store.

Witnesses who viewed the video say it looked like Standlee's behavior toward Ursino turned less friendly.

"I believe the art museum video showed Mr. Standlee following Mr. Ursino," Cedar Rapids police officer Brian Freeberg said on the witness stand. "I also believe the video from the Madge Phillips Center also indicated he was following Mr. Ursino."

Police say there was originally not enough evidence to charge Standlee after the first death -- which is why he was released.

The trial is expected to continue Monday.
