UPDATE: According to the crash report, Kameron Bill,22, was headed southbound on Highway 63, when he drove off the road and hit a bridge pillar.

Bill died at the scene. 

The accident remains under investigation.

UPDATE:  The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Chickasaw County.

According to a crash report, they say a driver was headed southbound on Highway 63, when they drove off the road and hit a bridge pillar.

The driver was killed, and their name is being withheld until family members are notified.

UPDATE:  Highway 63 has reopened after a deadly crash this morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says a car went off the road, into the median and hit a bridge pillar.

Pictures from a viewer show smoke pouring out of the car.

It happened along 63/18 at the 225th Street overpass, about a mile south of New Hampton.

The person's name has not been released.

Highway 63 (along 18) is blocked in both directions because of a crash, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.

A viewer sent us pictures of the crash which happened south of New Hampton this morning.

A detour is in place.
