OMAHA (KWWL) -

Iowa scored 3 runs to tie Ohio State 7-7 in the 8th inning, but gave up one in the 9th as the Hawkeyes fell 8-7 in the Big Ten Championship game. Iowa was playing in the title game for the 3rd time, but the Hawkeyes have yet to win in the final.

Troy Kuhn's RBI double in the top of the ninth inning made the difference for Ohio State.

The tournament title is the first for the fourth-seeded Buckeyes (43-18-1) since 2007, and they earned their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009 with the league championship.

Iowa (30-26) held a 4-0 lead after 3 innings, but gave up 7 unanswered runs as they trailed 7-4 going to the 8th inning. The Hawkeyes responded with Tyler Peyton picking up a 2 RBI double with the bases loaded to pull within a run. Joel Booker later tied it with a run scoring base hit to center. Iowa, however, couldn't bring anything across in the 9th after falling behind.
