Brian Shaffer allowed only two hits and struck out eight in a complete-game effort as sixth-seeded Maryland ousted Indiana from the Big Ten Tournament with a 3-0 victory on Friday.

The win was the second of the tournament for the Terrapins (30-26) over the third-seeded Hoosiers (32-24), and Maryland will next face Iowa on Saturday morning.

Shaffer (8-3) needed only 102 pitches to earn the win, with Marty Costes putting Maryland up early with a two-run home run in the first inning. Anthony Papio added three hits in the victory.

Evan Bell (2-5) allowed seven hits and two runs in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss. Logan Sowers and Luke Miller had the lone hits for Indiana.
