ISU Tailgate Tour finishes in Waterloo

Iowa State Cyclone fans came out in big numbers to the Cattle Congress grounds in Waterloo to meet their favorite head coaches.

New Iowa State Head football coach Matt Campbell and Iowa State Head basketball coach Steve Prohm who took his first Cyclone team to the sweet sixteen--making the trip with the Cyclone athletic staff.

Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard is excited with the direction of the athletic programs---

Pollard says Matt Campbell brings a positive energy to the  football program.

Pollard says, "Coach Campbell is everything we thought he was going to be when we interviewed him and hired him...his character his values have been tremendous and the people that he has surrounded himself with him have embodied those traits.. and his recruiting class--- he has the best recruiting ever at Iowa State. And then how they did academically, the spring semester the best grade point of any football team in the last 12 years at Iowa State."

Campbell said, "What excited me were some of the key pieces that were here to build a great program around...great academic institution, great facilities, great fan base and scouting them we have some great building blocks at quarterback Joel Lanning and wide receiver Alan Lazard who has a chance to be one of the top receivers in the country next year."

The Cyclones host UNI in its season opener on September 3rd at Jack Trice Stadium.
